AVILA’S BEACH

The Avila Beach Hotel is centrally located in the Pietermaai District (near the mega pier) and features two private beaches. Both beaches are protected from the wind and large waves by offshore breakwaters and consequently offer calm water for visitors to enjoy.

The breakwaters make it especially ideal for small children to float in the calm ocean and for you to enjoy the turquoise waters or to discover the beautiful house reef while snorkeling. The palm trees that dot our white sandy beaches offer plenty of shade from the sun , and we offer parasols and palapas (similar to a small one pole tiki hut).

BLUE BAY BEACH

Blue Bay Beach is a shady beach just northwest of Willemstad, near the village of Sint Michiel, with lots of facilities. It’s popular with local families and visitors because of the soft white sand. The sea floor slopes gently from the beach, so children enjoy playing here.

There are lounge chairs, palm trees, shade umbrellas, a nice bar and restaurant, a water sports center (diving and sea kayaking!), and a bikini shop. There is a children’s playground, a fairly large pool, and showers and toilets. On Sundays you can join a barbecue lunch. An admission fee for Blue Bay, Curacao is charged.

KLEIN CURAÇAO

An island 2 hours off the coast of Curaçao. Curaçao’s longest and whitest beach is on Klein Curaçao, an uninhabited island eight miles off the southeast coast. Dive operators and charter boats take passengers out to the oversized volcanic rock for beach parties, cookouts, and fantastic diving.

The shore is covered in soft white sand and the water is crystal clear, but there is little shade. The northeastern side routinely has calm water with gentle waves. If you want to go over here, check with dive operators or sailboat charters offering trips featuring snorkeling, refreshments, and usually a picnic or barbecue lunch.
